Executive Officer and Vice President Strategic Planning, reporting to CEO and CFO, leading 22 member team

3 areas of responsibility: Strategy and Analytics, Financial Planning, and Capital Planning ($220 MM budget)

  • Strategy and Analytics:
    • Created Long Range Strategic plan of 5 high growth pillars outside of Core (Women’s, Kids, Digital, Apparel & Europe); each strategic project is +$1B business
    • New business creation: Partnered with Women’s business GM to create new retail stores and online chain, SIX:02. Responsible for creating the Operating Model of the business, including store layout, brand assortment, capital requirements. Operating stores in 3 markets: Florida, Texas, and California with rapid rollout planned
    • High growth business comp delivery: Kids business growth delivered double digit comp growth 2012-2014 by adding apparel into the product mix within Kids Foot Locker
    • Business turnaround: Apparel business decline from 21 over 5 years; focused cross functional global team to clarify role of apparel within each business (Champs, Foot Locker, Eastbay, Foot Action) to reduce overlap and drive incremental sales
  • Financial Planning:
    • Lead financial planning through annual and seasonal process
    • 2012-2016 plan: $7.5 B revenue, 14 EBIT, 7% net income, $500 sales/square foot, 3x inventory turn
    • 2014 financial results: Total sales +9.9% to $7,151 million, the highest level of sales ever recorded by the Company. Fifth consecutive year with double-digit earnings per share increase. Reset plan due to overachievement
    • 2020 plan of $10 B revenue, 17 EBIT, 8.5% net income, $600 sales/square foot, 3x inventory turn based on 6 strategic pillars (core + 5 high growth pillars)
  • Capital Planning:
    • Managed capital spend ($220 MM) across real estate and non real estate investments to deliver ROIC improvement from 14.2 in 2014
    • Lead yearly capital budgeting process with all divisions and corporate functions globally
    • Created and integrated prototype stores predictive analytical model for new stores
